When we think about AI in national security, we tend to think about autonomous weapon systems. In my experience, AI in national security is instead best applied toward improving our ability to analyze and reason over large volumes of data to enable better, data-driven decisions from the tactical to the strategic. Domains like intelligence production and information operations are areas that can massively benefit from improved AI decision-making without the safety risks associated with kinetic operations.
